Sports Activities

During this academic year  (as a result of being members of the Partnership) each class will participate in at least one inter-school festival and the KS2 running club members will compete at a cross country event.  Coaches will be provided to and from all these events.

In addition our netball team will take part in two tournaments (one as part of the Partnership) and the football team will play 5 league matches and several ‘friendlies’.  Using our funding we are now able to provide a qualified coach and referee at football matches.

Following the very successful ‘Fit4fun’ week last summer, we will be running this again. This takes place in June, with Sports Day scheduled for the end of the week. Each day will start with a ‘Wake and shake’ session.

Girls football has been introduced on a Friday lunchtime.

We also have regular inter-house competitions at the end of each half term to practice the skills the children have learned.

A new school bi-annual event is a Fun Run for all year groups, to maximize the use of our extensive grounds.

Please note the pledge certificate above, which details our commitment as a school to growing girls’ football and supporting the vision that every girl has equal access to football in school by 2024 through PE lesson, girls only football sessions and competitive girls’ football events.  The link below also has further information.
